'Hope' Abstract Painting Time Lapse

It's been a while since I've been able to do an art video and I have really missed it. Fortunately I've been able to record this painting here and there and finally put it together for you.

The new supplies I used in this were: Gansai Tambi gold watercolours, gold guilding flakes, Liquitex matt medium and acrylic paint pens.

If you have any questions about the supplies or techniques please leave me a comment x

A New Beginning

Here's to a new beginning for this blog. A lot has been happening in my life of late and I wanted to get back to my roots of sharing my creative passions with those of you who share the same passions too.

My vlog (video diary) has been an important part of my journey the past couple of years and I really enjoy sharing all kinds of creative things with you on there as well as my latest artworks. I feel like it is the perfect fit for this blog and will be sharing my vlogs and my inspirations and ramblings with you right here from now on.

I've recently been giving my art studio a little makeover, it's been so much fun. It all stemmed from a photo I saw in Mollie Makes magazine of a pink craft room. It was the perfect pink and reminded me of when I started with own pink art studio. Back then the pink I chose was more vivid and the whole room was that colour.

As my art evolved I decided to change it to a more sophisticated vintage blue. I loved the blue and still have some of my studio that colour, but I have added one off white wall earlier in the year to use for photographing my paintings on a neutral backdrop and now I have a beautiful soft pink wall for my retro corner.

I also wanted to get rid of my very big bookcase that seemed to house lots of clutter and made the room feel closed in and not very relaxing. I knew I wanted the wall space to put larger paintings on and just have more space, so I decided to ditch the bookcase.

We managed to find a lovely big chest of drawers second hand and got some lovely 'Strawberry vanilla' chalk paint and some beautiful ceramaic knobs to totally make it over. I also upcycled some apple crates to make another small piece of furniture.

Well, my room is virtually complete, I spent hours on Monday putting things away and sorting it all out. It's not entirely finished yet, you can see a bit of it in my latest vlog above. I plan to do a proper room tour video very soon.

My studio feels so much better now, I've even started painting again! Looking forward to sharing more with you soon.
